History
In Summer 1 we will be studying World War 2 and the Holocaust.
We will carefully and respectfully explore the events of World War 2 in Europe, building on our previous topic of World War 2 in Britain by comparing the lives of Jewish people in mainland Europe and the British during the war.
Our Super Six book for this half term is Once by Morris Gleitzman. It is a story about a Jewish boy named Felix who lives in Poland during WW2 and is on a quest to find his book-keeper parents after he sees Nazis burning the books from a Catholic orphanage in which he is staying. We will use this to support our learning during this topic.
The rest of the books in the series are available in our class library for the children to read.
