Attendance
At St Sebastian’s RC Primary School, we strive for the highest possible standard of education for all pupils and recognise that this can only be achieved by supporting and promoting excellent attendance and punctuality. This is based on the belief that only by attending school regularly and punctually will pupils be able to take full advantage of the educational opportunities available to them. Parents / carers play a key role in ensuring primary-aged pupils attend school regularly and arrive on time. Please read the attendance and punctuality fact sheet below.
New Legislation comes into force on 19th August 2024 regarding the issuing of penalty notices relating to none school attendance. The following changes will come into force for penalty notice fines issued after 19th August 2024. Please read the document below for information.
The school's Attendance Team, together with the Headteacher and the Education Welfare Officer work closely and meet regularly with families to find solutions to improving attendance and punctuality of those potentially vulnerable pupils or those struggling with medical issues.
